Xalapa, Ver., 03/01/2017.- El portal de la Universidad Veracruzana (UV) ha sido incluido en el Índice Global de Líderes de Opinión 2016, elaborado por el prestigioso Instituto Gottlieb Duttweiler (GDI, por sus siglas en inglés), ubicado en Rüschlikon, Suiza, cuyo comité de expertos es el más antiguo del país helvético.
Cada año, dentro de un contexto global en línea, se analiza el tráfico de menciones y conversaciones generadas en seis áreas de diferentes idiomas, alemán, suizo, árabe, chino, español y un panorama global en idioma inglés. Cada área representa un ranking de los 30 líderes de pensamiento de mayor distinción en Internet, y un ranking de los 30 medios de comunicación más importantes que conectan a los líderes de pensamiento uno con otro.
Es precisamente dentro de estos 30 medios de comunicación dentro del área en inglés, que la UV se ha distinguido a escala global, mezclándose con medios de fama mundial como Facebook, Twitter, el periódico The New York Times, y las cadenas BBC y CNN. Asimismo, en la misma lista de líderes de opinión figuran nombres como el empresario Bill Gates, el ajedrecista Gary Kasparov, el Dalai Lama, el científico Stephen Hawking, el Premio Nobel Al Gore y el Papa Francisco. La Universidad Veracruzana es la única institución de educación superior que aparece en este ranking.
El GDI se conforma de un comité independiente de expertos en distintas áreas que realizan investigaciones sobre tendencias en economía, sociedad y consumo. Utiliza el lema “influencia es poder” como pilar de medición para sus estudios de investigación, basado en un contexto actual de globalización y sociedades industrializadas.
La metodología del estudio para el Índice Global de Líderes de Opinión 2016 consiste en la utilización del software Coolhunting, desarrollado por el colaborador de GDI, Galaxyadvisors.com. La empresa analiza y mide, de forma anual, la cantidad de menciones de medios y personas mediante los números de seguidores de determinadas redes sociales, así como a través de las relaciones y grado de intensidad de movimientos de los más influyentes en Internet.
Desde 2014, la Universidad Veracruzana ha estado presente dentro de los rankings de GDI. Sin embargo, de acuerdo con datos proporcionados por el instituto suizo, en 2016 dio un salto extraordinario. De una lista de mil medios de comunicación (que para efectos del estudio incluye a empresas, universidades y medios por igual), el portal de la UV pasó de la posición número 784 en 2015, a la número 20 en 2016.
Los resultados fueron publicados dentro del sitio web www.thoughtleaders.world/en/networks-2016/ a principios de diciembre del año pasado.
