Crece el PIB 2.4 por ciento al cierre de 2016, más de lo esperado

Ciudad de México, 22 de febrero de 2017.- El Producto Interno Bruto Nacional (PIB) creció hacia el cuarto trimestre de 2016 en 2.4 por ciento en términos anuales con respecto a igual periodo de 2015, informa este miércoles el Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (Inegi). 

Dicha cifra es superior a la anticipada por el propio Inegi el pasado 31 de enero, cuando estimó que la cifra llegaría a 2.2 por ciento. 

Por grandes actividades económicas, el PIB de las actividades primarias se elevó 6.6 por ciento al cuarto trimestre de 2016 con respecto a igual periodo de 2015, el de las secundarias tuvo nulo crecimiento y el de las terciarias aumentó 3.3 por ciento. 

Las actividades primarias son las que satisfacen una necesidad con recursos o procesos naturales. Las principales actividades primarias son: agricultura, ganadería, pesca, minería y explotación forestal.

Las secundarias transforman materia prima en manufacturas; es decir, son las que producen satisfactores a través de la industria de transformación.

Son actividades terciarias los servicios indispensables para realizar actividades primarias y secundarias; entre las que se encuentran, entre otros, el transporte, negocios inmobiliarios, bancos y aseguradoras. 

La mediación trimestral del PIB, que se realiza desde el primer trimestre de 1993, ofrece en el corto plazo, una visión oportuna, completa y coherente de la evolución de las actividades económicas del país, para apoyar la toma de decisiones económicas.
