Coatzacoalcos, Ver, 28 de diciembre de 2016.- Durante el 2016 la actividad hotelera de Coatzacoalcos ha estado detenida, debido a que las inversiones prometidas en la industria petrolera o de empresas extranjeras, jamás se concretaron.
Esteban Enríquez España, es integrante de la Asociación de Hoteles y Moteles de la ciudad y lamentó que hayan tenido un año difícil, en donde la ocupación mensual promedio, apenas alcanzó el 40 por ciento.
Cuando en años anteriores reportaban poco más del 60 o 70 por ciento, como sucedió entre el 2014 y 2015.
“Para el sector hotelero desde luego lo hemos resentido, dejó de venir la gente que venía por etileno, somos una plaza de turismo industrial y al no haber inversiones se cae enormemente la ocupación”.
En entrevista, reveló que la temporada de fin de año es la más difícil para el sector, toda vez que se trata de una plaza que depende casi al 100% del turismo empresarial o de trabajo.
Aunque dijo que en la última semana del mes y principios del próximo año, habrá un poco de actividad en el hospedaje de turistas que van de paso hacia el caribe mexicano y que buscan en Coatzacoalcos un lugar donde descansar una noche por lo menos antes de continuar con su camino.
Enríquez España, reiteró que esperan tener un mejor 2017 en donde solicitaran al Gobierno del Estado, la reincorporación del impuesto del 2 por ciento al hospedaje:
“Creemos que se debe reinstaurar el impuesto sobre hospedaje y designarlo para campañas, incluso si no se hace a nivel estatal, que se haga en el municipio que se cobre y se administre a través de un fideicomiso y se invierta en una campaña que mucha falta nos hace”.
Al finalizar la entrevista mencionó que ya se preparan para recibir a los inversionistas que se sumen al proyecto de las zonas económicas especiales, que dijo, permitirá incrementar la economía de la región.
