El titular de la Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público (SHCP), José Antonio Meade Kuribreña, detalló a usuarios de Twitter las razones y los beneficios que traerá en el mediano plazo el ajuste en el precio de la gasolina.
En su cuenta @JoseAMeadeK, la noche de este martes, el funcionario respondió algunos de los cuestionamientos emitidos por los tuiteros, entre ellos, la necesidad de este ajuste, toda vez que los precios mundiales del petróleo subieron.
Por ello, señaló, el modelo de mantener artificialmente bajo los precios era ya inoperante; el costo de las gasolinas hubiera sido de 200 mil millones de pesos para este año, además, ello le costó al país en 2011 más de 196 mil millones de pesos.
Asimismo, en torno a la pregunta sobre por qué el impuesto a la gasolina es tan alto en México, aclaró que prácticamente todos los países cobran impuestos a las gasolinas porque su consumo tiene efectos negativos en la sociedad.
Ante los señalamientos de que en casi todos los países hay buena infraestructura, buenas carreteras y seguridad, Meade Kuribreña comentó que mantener los precios artificialmente bajos de gasolina impidió invertir en éstas y otras infraestructuras.
El funcionario reconoció en la red social que sí habrá efecto en precios, lo cual no se traducirá en incrementos desbordados en la inflación y aunque admitió que son medidas difíciles, reiteró que son necesarias por los beneficios al mediano y largo plazo en términos de inversión y de libre competencia para el país.
Respecto a si considera viable la construcción de una refinería de gasolina, Meade Kuribreña dijo que dependerá de las inversiones que justamente no se pudieron hacer en años por mantener precios artificiales de gasolinas.
Ante la petición de los tuiteros, expuso que del precio del litro de gasolina, 51 por ciento corresponde a impuestos, 36 por ciento a logística y 14 por ciento a comercialización; además, comentó que el IEPS es un impuesto progresivo que representa 22.9 por ciento del precio promedio de las gasolinas.
