Hoy entró en vigor el nuevo salario mínimo en México, de 80.04 pesos diarios, que representa el incremento en pesos más alto de los últimos 17 años y permitirá recuperar el poder adquisitivo de la población, sin afectar la estabilidad de precios o el empleo formal.
Así, por primera vez en cuatro décadas, el salario mínimo recupera 15 por ciento su poder adquisitivo, luego de que el pasado 1 de diciembre el Consejo de Representantes de la Comisión Nacional de los Salarios Mínimos (Conasami) decidió elevarlo de 73.04 a 80.04 pesos diarios.
De acuerdo con el Gobierno federal, tal incremento, sin precedentes, representa 9.5 por ciento más que el salario mínimo vigente de 2016.
Así, con base en cifras del INEGI y el Coneval, el ingreso de los trabajadores que ganan esta percepción ha tenido una recuperación de 578 pesos mensuales en lo que va de la presente administración federal.
En su momento, el presidente Enrique Peña Nieto hizo un reconocimiento a la Comisión Nacional de los Salarios Mínimos por aprobar de manera unánime el incremento al salario mínimo, por arriba de los ochenta pesos.
Destacó que ésta es la primera vez que hay una recuperación real del salario mínimo, de quince por ciento, “lo que no ocurría desde hace cuarenta años”.
Cabe señalar que también a partir del 1 de enero, los salarios mínimos profesionales tienen un aumento circunscrito al incremento de fijación, es decir, de 3.9 por ciento.
De acuerdo con el Consejo de Representantes de la Comisión Nacional de Salarios Mínimos (un organismo tripartito), el acuerdo de alza al mini salario fue tomado por unanimidad.
Consiste en otorgar un aumento constituido por el Monto Independiente de Recuperación (MIR) de cuatro pesos diarios al salario mínimo general con el objeto de apoyar la recuperación, única y exclusivamente, de los trabajadores asalariados que perciben el salario mínimo general.
El propósito es hacer posible que se recupere el poder adquisitivo de los trabajadores asalariados que perciben un salario mínimo general y para que éste se cumpla no debe repercutirse en los precios de los bienes y servicios que consumen las familias, indicó.
“Esta unidad permite seguir construyendo y consolidando un sector laboral fuerte, dinámico y más justo, que reconozca el esfuerzo de los trabajadores y eleve la productividad de las empresas”, puntualizó en su momento el titular de la Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social (STPS), Alfonso Navarrete Prida.
