Los manifestantes eran portadores de una carta dirigida al secretario de estado de su país, Rex Tillerson, en la que le expresan su profunda preocupación por la retórica hostil del presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, en contra de México.
En la carta califican de “absurda” la idea de crear un muro fronterizo entre ambas naciones, toda vez que con ello se alientan sentimientos de racismo y xenofobia en Estados Unidos y se erosiona la credibilidad del gobierno de esa nación.
Las organizaciones firmantes de la misiva dirigida al secretario de Estado de estados Unidos, consideran que el Tratado de Libre Comercio es vital importancia para ambas economías y que interrumpirlo tendrá efectos negativos en la industria del país vecino.
Recomendaron, por el contrario, favorecer la cooperación con México para construir una relación bilateral sólida que permita enfrentar retos compartidos en el presente y en el futuro.
