Coatzacoalcos, Ver.- Este 2 de febrero la feligresía católica de Coatzacoalcos llegó a los templos para celebrar a la Virgen de La Candelaria. Como lo marca la tradición, los creyentes llevaron a bendecir las imágenes de los niños Jesús.
Año con año esperan con devoción esta fecha que para ellos es sinónimo de luz y fe, así lo expresó William Omar Martínez de 25 años de edad, quien esta mañana acudió con su niño Dios a recibir la bendición “darle gracias a Dios por todo lo que nos dio el año pasado, por apoyarme en mi carrera. El fin de semana llevamos a vestir al niño con toda mi familia y ya hoy lo trajimos a presentarlo”.
También integrantes del cabildo porteño celebraron este día y asistieron a la misa en honor a la Virgen que se efectuó en la capilla de la colonia San Silverio, ahí predicó el párroco David Tamayo Pérez de la iglesia Santa María Reina del Rosario “es la fiesta de María la Virgen de la Candelaria, que nos muestra a su hijo que es luz del mundo; aquí nosotros le hacemos una fiesta grande a Jesús”.
El religioso exhortó a las autoridades municipales a acercarse a Dios para que tomen buenas decisiones “pedirle a Dios que les ilumine la mente para las decisiones que ellos tomen para nuestro gobierno, que sean asistidos por la gracia divina; que ellos también pidan por el pueblo que gobiernan”.
Al terminar la misa una caravana acompañó a la imagen de la Virgen de La Candelaria a lo largo del malecón. También se repartieron los tradicionales tamales.
