Xalapa, Ver., 14 de noviembre de 2016.- A sus 85 años de edad, doña Joaquina Zamora aprendió a leer y escribir, y convenció a su hijo de 60 años de alfabetizarse. Su vida, cuenta la señora, quien vive en la localidad de Chiltoyac, no fue fácil; tuvo que abandonar la escuela porque su familia no tenía recursos, y con el tiempo se convirtió en padre y madre.
Actualmente estudia en el Instituto Veracruzano de Educación para los Adultos (IVEA), pero recuerda que, así como ella, muchos niños no podían continuar con su primaria; “mis papás eran muy pobres y no tuvieron para darnos estudios; no había más años, sólo primero, segundo y tercero, pero como mis papás eran muy pobres no teníamos ni cuadernos, ni lápiz, ni goma”.
Ahora, ella y su hijo ya saben leer y escribir; “ya sabemos hacer cuentas, sabemos leer lo principal, y si vamos a la tienda ya nos dan bien el cambio, porque en aquel tiempo nos robaban porque no sabíamos hacer ni una cuenta”.
Doña Joaquina tiene muchas ganas de trabajar y de estudiar. Aunque su círculo de estudio IVEA se encuentra lejos de su casa, “allá en la loma”, nunca falta a sus asesorías y siempre aprovecha la oportunidad de invitar a las personas a iniciar sus estudios en ese Instituto.
“Yo le pido a todas las personas que son como nosotros, humildes, y que quisieran aprender porque están jóvenes, que se acerquen al IVEA. Cuando tuve mis hijos chiquitos no tenía el respaldo de nadie; trataba de que cada vez que iba a una farmacia alguien me apoyara, porque no sabía cómo le iba a dar el medicamento a mis hijos”.
Antes de conocer el IVEA se acercó a una escuela para aprender a leer y escribir, pero dice que no le entraban las letras, y fue hasta que conoció a la maestra Jacqueline, su asesora, que comenzó su proceso y continúa avanzando.
“Lo que he aprendido me ha servido mucho, ya puedo poner mi nombre, pongo mamá, papá, Pepe, Lupe, Lalo, todas esas palabras las puedo leer; ahorita, por ejemplo, mi hijo que tiene 60 años y estudia conmigo, ya también sabe leer, hasta lo buscaron para vocal de Prospera”, expresó.
