La rectora de la Universidad Veracruzana (UV), Sara Ladrón de Guevara, participó la tarde del miércoles en las audiencias públicas convocadas por el Senado de la República para atender la situación de los estudiantes universitarios que han llegado o se espera que lleguen deportados de los EUA.
La UV formó parte del grupo de universidades convocadas por el Senado para participar de las “Audiencias públicas para el análisis de la iniciativa preferente con proyecto de decreto por el que se reforma o adicionan diversas disposiciones de la Ley General de Educación”, que iniciaron el 13 de febrero y finalizaron el mismo miércoles, en una sesión encabezada por el senador Juan Carlos Romero Hicks.
En la sesión, la Rectora de la UV defendió la postura que esta casa de estudio ha establecido respecto de la vulnerable situación de los jóvenes estudiantes deportados de EUA, conocidos actualmente como dreamers, y también dio a conocer algunas de las acciones que la máxima casa de estudios de Veracruz ya realiza en este sentido, así como las aportaciones de la UV para sumarse a una iniciativa nacional en la materia.
Sara Ladrón de Guevara explicó que este aspecto del tema migratorio no es de carácter emergente sino estructural y, también, de Derechos Humanos. Lo que caracteriza al fenómeno hoy día, dijo, es que viene acompañado de una ideología fascistoide y un discurso racista.
Dijo que la Universidad ha identificado su problemática y puesto en práctica estrategias de integración y sensibilización, lo que ha devenido en el posicionamiento y eventual empoderamiento de los estudiantes migrantes quienes, incluso, ya ofrecen cursos y tutorías en lengua inglesa a otros estudiantes de la UV, por ejemplo. Este grupo de estudiantes migrantes realizaron el video “Ni de aquí ni de allá, también tengo derecho a estudiar. Migrante retorno México” con el que obtuvieron un premio del Senado mexicano.
