Xalapa, Ver., 04 de noviembre de 2016.- Cada uno de nosotros conoce una parte de Rocío Sagaón; solamente ella pudo tener en sí misma su esencia y la de toda su obra, dijo el titular del Instituto Veracruzano de la Cultura (IVEC), Rodolfo Mendoza Rosendo, en la mesa de diálogo Rocío Sagaón, una artista polifacética, evocaciones y reflexiones, en la Pinacoteca Diego Rivera, con la participación de Gustavo Pérez, Esther Hernández Palacios y Guadalupe Barrientos.
“La exposición que tenemos nos ha permitido a muchos conocer más detalles de esa vida tan intensa y variada que fue la de Rocío, con tantas facetas y caminos distintos en los que incursionó, y tanta experiencia acumulada a lo largo de los años que estuvo activa”, describió Gustavo Pérez, ceramista de trayectoria nacional e internacional que convivió con la célebre pareja conformada por Rocío Sagaón y Georges Vinaver durante ocho años, cuando trabajó en su taller El Tomate.
En ese sentido, el ceramista reconoció que “la actividad es una característica fundamental que la define: siempre haciendo algo con pasión y entrega, con enorme curiosidad, el afán de saber más y conocer todo lo posible”.
Por otra parte, Guadalupe Barrientos compartió con jóvenes estudiantes y público general una parte de su investigación iniciada con Sagaón; “Rocío es y seguirá siendo una gran haya —uno de esos árboles maravillosos que hay en Xalapa y en todo el Bosque de Niebla— que dio sentido a generaciones, antes y después de ella.
“Haya, ceiba, higuera. Mujer naturaleza que viaja hasta el final de su propio fin y se convierte en su propia conciencia que marca no sólo los ámbitos artísticos, sino también la vida verdadera, la que da sentido y norte a las personas en su día a día”, agregó quien ha formado parte del Ballet Nacional de México y del Centro Nacional de Danza Contemporánea como bailarina, maestra y coordinadora.
En su intervención, la académica Esther Hernández Palacios expresó que les debe a Rocío y Georges mucho de lo que es, “porque yo estaba destinada a ser abogada o maestra de primaria. Ellos fueron las primeras personas que conocí que parecían personajes de los libros, y me gustaba. Eran sujetos diferentes a los que veía todos los días.
“Estuve en su casa y descubrí otra forma de ser más íntima de los Vinaver. Su búsqueda de la belleza y lo estético estaba en todo: en el plato en que comían, en el diálogo y en las propuestas que eran más novedosas y a veces un poco intimidantes, pero siempre eran un reto”, relató.
Gladiola Orozco, Antonio Prieto y Gloria Godínez, bajo la moderación de la bailarina Djahel Vinaver, hija de Sagaón, conversaron también sobre sus memorias y vivencias en la segunda mesa de diálogo.
